Gilly and Sandy Ord, whilst holidaying on a sunny beach in Phuket Thailand, met up with their long standing friends from Australia. Victoria was wearing a fantastic, attractive, colourful sunhat. Gilly, whose past experiences have taught her to recognize a great product when she sees one, was smitten and instantly wanted one. They immediately made enquiries about bringing the hats onto the South African market, especially as nothing similar appeared to be available. Spurred on by compliments received from friends and family Emthunzini Hats was launched in 2009.

In only a few years Emthunzini Hats has increased their fashionable range of hats for men, women and children. They can be found in most corners of Southern Africa, Mauritius and the Seychelles. Click here for a list of stockists.

Most hats carry the UPF50+ swing ticket which means they are specifically tested and verified as meeting the UPF50+ requirements. Awarded the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Seal of Recognition (CSOR), the hats offer the assurance of protection against the harmful effects of the sun and therefore provide peace of mind.

Emthunzini Hats are proud of the high quality of their hats and work hard to ensure customers get the best value for their money, despite the sometimes challenging global market conditions.

Emthunzini Hats are involved in a number of corporate responsibility projects around the country. Click here to read on further.
