Below are some regular questions that we receive from our customers. If you have any further questions, please feel free to click here to contact us.

Our hats are mostly crushable. Those that are, push the crown of the hat straight down to flatten out the hat. Lay flat in your suitcase so that it won't get folded or creased. Some hats can be stuffed in your bag and you're ready to go! Click to watch videos on how to pack your soft sun hats and crushable Emthunzini sun hats.
There is a tag on each hat that has recommended cleaning instructions. We recommend hand wash in cold water using a mild liquid hand soap or spot wash where indicated. Air dry. Do not use bleach or Woolite®. Do not dry clean or machine wash and dry any of the hats. Gently steam to remove any creases or wrinkles. The Hepburn, Gigi, Amy, Morgan, Roxy, Kristy hats are not washable. Click for helpful tip videos on how to spot clean and wash your your Emthunzini sun hats.
Woolite is intended to wash wool fabrics. It is not recommended to use it when washing hats as it causes the hats to become floppy. Woolite can also cause the adhesive used in some of our hats to deteriorate. We recommend using a mild liquid hand soap instead.
We advise you to put the hat in the sun to reshape the 'dents'. If you are able to, steam the hat lightly with a steamer if you have one or use a damp cloth, reshape the rim with your fingers and then air dry. Click to watch this video on how to reshape your Emthunzini Hat.

Please reference our size chart which describes how to measure your head. Click here
It's best to measure around the area of your head, where you'd like the hat to rest. Click here to watch this video on how to achieve the perfect sun hat fit.

Our fabrics are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) and they determine what fabrics qualify as UPF 50+. The hats that qualify block 97.5% of the sun's ultraviolet rays. There is no special chemical that creates this protection; it is how the fabric is woven that creates the protection. Please remember that you are only protected where you are shaded. We recommend that you wear sunscreen and sunglasses as well as a hat while out in the sun. Read more
